STUDENT FEELING UNWELL AT SCHOOL:

When a student is not feeling well at school they should inform the principal or designate. The principal or designate will determine the next steps. If needed the student will see the Doctor or go to Emergency. If the student needs rest there is a rest area for sick students at school.

STUDENT FEELING UNWELL AT HOME IN RESIDENCE:

When a student is not feeling well at home they should inform the resident advisor or call the principal. The resident advisor or principal will determine the next steps. If needed the student will see the Doctor or go to Emergency.

MEDICATIONS

No medications are allowed to be kept in the students boarding rooms unless documented and cleared by the school principal. This is especially true for over-the-counter medications. Herbal remedies and items must also be cleared and a clear list of ingredients in English provided. Items not reported to the principal may be confiscated. The principal reserves the right to have medications dispensed at the school on a daily, weekly or even monthly basis under supervision.

To work effectively together, please accurately complete the Medical Form listing pertinent medical information and medicine. It is always the best policy to be honest about health issues so the school can do a better job at keeping your child safe. It is mandatory that Canadian Independent College is informed of ALL medications a student takes. Natural medicines and vitamins are included in this category.
