CIC Waterloo works in partnership with teachers and senior students to provide one-on-one tutorial service to student needing extra academic help. The goal of peer tutoring is to provide additional after-school homework and assignment support to students in a private and quiet environment. Personable and knowledgeable tutors provide personalized programs to meet student needs and learning styles. In these sessions, underlying concepts and skills are re-taught and reinforced.
Every student has a different skill set and a unique way of processing information. A method of presentation may work with one student and fail to support another. That’s why CIC Waterloo offers personalized instruction to help students build study skills and understand school content. One-on-one sessions are focused on building rapport between student and teachers, identifying student learning style, and fostering student confidence by equipping them with the necessary reading, writing, and thinking skills.
